How to make Glowing Cocktails Mojitos!

These great tasting mojitos glow under a black light. Great for late night outdoor parties or halloween.
Just add booze pink lemonade and black light and you got the northern lights in your head.

TCCs black light phosphorescent take on jungle-juice.  Originally conceived in 2006, it is a drink that is pink in natural light, but glows aqua-marine in black-light.  Thus, it represents the two main colors of the aurora-borealis.  So, without further ado here is the recipe. (Originally, the drink was made with just pink-lemonade, but was later modified to use Rose’s Mojito Passion).

WHAT YOU NEED

2 liters Gin or Vodka
9 Liters Tonic Water
3-4 Bottles Roses Mojito Passion, OR 3-4 Canisters of Pink-Lemonade Concentrate
Ice
INSTRUCTIONS

Mix all ingredients together shortly before the party begins.
Add ice as late as possible before drinking.

Great article on the Photoshop filter NASA uses to help geologist identify pictures of Martian Rocks. Need a Mars white balance card.
Even the most casual fan of space travel would notice something funny about the latest image from the Mars Curiosity rover, as seen below. I mean, they call Mars the "Red Planet" for a reason, and here we are looking at blue rocks.

Jawa Sandcrawler Spotted on Mars by Curiosity.

A jawa sandcrawler was spotted on Mars by Curiosity then quickly removed by Nasa.

Conspiracy theorists have worked themselves up into a lather over a mysterious blotch visible in the first black and white photographs taken from NASA's new Curiosity rover as it landed on Mars.
The faint but distinctive dot which can be seen on the horizon of the Red Planet was taken by a device on the $2.5 billion robot called its Hazcam and relayed by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter back to Earth.
However, two hours later when the satellite made another pass over Curiosity, the rover sent another batch of images that revealed that the blotch had eerily disappeared.

Wii U mixed review at-least from some new devs

About 150 Club Nintendo members had received a golden ticket for each night of this four-day junket, but I was more interested in talking to the invited students from DePaul University’s Game Dev program. These were undergraduates and graduate students who had made the decision to come to a four-year, liberal arts school to study up on how to make modern games. They weren’t just here to see if the Wii U’s unique touchscreen tablet controller made it a system worth buying. They were also evaluating potential career paths, sizing up the development potential of what will be the first of the several systems that could shape the opening decade of their young careers.

Hidden Google tools

The Best Google Features You’re Probably Not Using
 Thorin Klosowski
Google is a vast machine with all types of apps, programs, and tools. A lot of these—like Gmail and Google Docs—are clearly useful and beloved by many. But hidden inside Google's network are some awesome, lesser-known gems that can make your life easier.
Over the last couple of years Google has experimented with a lot of products. Hidden beneath popular apps like Gmail, Google Search, and Chrome are a lot of cool features that most people don't mess around with. Here are some of our favorite unsung Google features, from Google Drive apps to Google+ to everything in between.

Frigidaire Dishwasher with OrbitClean 4 times better then dogs tongue.

Ok its not often I get interested in a dishwasher but my wife and I have a battle trying to get me to wash my plates before loading it in the dishwasher. This new dishwasher from Frigidaire is supposed to provide 4 times better water coverage. If that means 4 times cleaner then I am in. Although I still think my dog does the best job at cleaning the dishes. Wife does not like me letting the animals eat of the plates. So for now here is cool sounding dishwasher with ORBITCLEAN. I guess Orbit is still a buzzword.

Good HD antenna Review for Suburban Cable Cutters

First thing you have to realize if you cut the cable is that you will NO LONGER GET ESPN. I do find that watching games that are not televised locally like Monday night Football is a good excuse to get out of the house and head to the local sports bar. If you are OK with the lack of no local sports then cutting the cable can save you hundreds a year. I cut the cable about 4 years ago. One of the first purchases made was a solid TV antenna. I currently use the ClearStream2™ Outdoor Long-Range Digital TV (DTV) Antenna. I purchased the antenna from Best buy for $ 99.00 that way if it did not work ( LIKE MANY HD ANTENNA DO NOT) I could quickly take it back. The antenna came with mount and brackets. I did need to purchase some coaxial cable and connectors. For most of my cabling I tried to use the existing cable from the directv install. I found the Sat cable runs were to long for my antenna so I ended up just running my own coax. Most of the stations are under 30 miles from me and I get them great. I do however have some issues with some channels when the wind is blowing hard. For a mount I used the existing directv mount on the roof. You might need a antenna amplifier if you are going to go to more then 1 display and more the 50 feet of cable. Either I am saving big money but the local cable/ internet company keeps jacking those that just use the broadband service and chose not to bundle. Hurry up Google fiber!

How to watch Netflix with $99 Pop Video iPhone Projector review..

Got the Pop Video iPhone projector the other day. The Pop Video Projector is a $99 dollar piece of hardware that attaches to your iPhone. The hardware does have a battery that will require a charge off a USB cable. Battery life is advertised as 2 hours but I was only getting an hour off a full charge. Video quality is good at Video Output: qHD (960 x 540 pixel resolution). You will need to install the free app for it to function with iPhone. I found it most useful for lying in bed and watching netflix on the ceiling. The app prevents you from showing your iPhone screen live instead it browses for NON-DRM video files. I got it to play netflix by going to the web browser through the pop video app, then going to netflix.com. Do not allow the page to open the  netflix app. Sign in to netflix and pick a show. Again the battery life is only about an hour. Need to make a bed post mount and wire up some power. It has to be a matter of time before the iPhone has the projector light built in. I could not find away to show power points or keynotes unless you save them out as a PDF or image or mov file.
Here some more info.

Ar Drone 2.0 Flight Video with 8 mph Wind

This one of my first flight videos taken with the Parrot Ar Drone 2.0. Video was recored to iPad 1 so it 25 frames per second. I now record to USB drive. Had a little trouble with the wind and almost crashed but was able to hit the land button in time. I was flying in absolute mode.

AR DRONE 2.0 UNBOXING VIDEO

Just got the Parrot Ar. Drone 2.0 from Brookstone.com and did a complete unboxing video. Drone comes with carrying case, 1 battery, 1 charger, indoor hull and outdoor hull. Drone is controlled by iPhone, iPad or android phone and built in HD camera that can record to flash drive or iPad or iPhone. After installing the app on my iPad and charging the battery for 1:30 I was able to quickly fly the drone for a flight time of 12 min on the battery. I have been flying other RC helicopter that tools months of flight practice on sims and with trainers. This Ar. Drone 2.0 was easy enough that I comfortable with the controls after about 3 flights. Great control called absolute for beginners.
Brookstone was fight and customer service answered all my questions. Yes in this case I got the extended warranty. Great product more then just a toy.

Big guitar amp sound without big cash.

Here’s one solution for getting killer tones on the road that won’t axe murder your budget: learn to get the most out of cheap amplifiers. A cheap amp won’t have fancy turns like point-to-point hand-wiring, state-of-the-art speakers, or even, necessarily, the best tubes, but with some modifications and patience, they can bark, snarl and purr similar to fancy best-in-shows. Or at least close enough for rock ’n’ roll.

Apples Mastered for iTunes tested.

Apple's push to increase the quality of songs distributed via iTunes has been formally realized in the company's Mastered for iTunes program—but does it really make music sound better?

After our original report on the Mastered for iTunes program, some readers were skeptical that anything could be done to make a compressed AAC file sound comparable to uncompressed, 16-bit 44.1kHz CD standard audio. Others believed users should have access to the original 24-bit 96kHz files created in the studio for the best sound. Finally, some readers suggested that few people can actually tell the difference between iTunes Plus tracks and CD audio, so why bother making any effort to improve iTunes quality?

British recording engineer Ian Shepard called the entire process of specially mastering audio files for iTunes to sound more like the CD version simple "BS."
